First Year Band
Grade Level: 4-12
Prerequisite: None
This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified, personable instructor. You will learn how to read music, music theory as well as how to play together in a band. Students will perform as a band twice during the school year for friends and family.
This class is open to any woodwind (flute, clarinet or saxophone), brass (trumpet or trombone) or percussion instruments. Guest instructors will join the class throughout the school year for friends and family.
Practice time outside of class is required in order for the band to progress. Supply list is available at the first class meeting.
Second Year Band
Grade Level:4-12
Prerequisite: Private lessons on their instrument for at least six months, have taken band previously at Beacock Music or by permission of the instructor. Call Beacock Music to set up a time to meet with the instructor.

Third Year Band

Prerequisite: Private lessons on their instrument for a year, have taken band previously at Beacock Music or by permission of the instructor. Call Beacock Music to set up a time to meet with the instructor.
This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified and personable instructor. Students will begin to learn more advanced music theory and a greater understanding of their instrument. Guest instructors will join in the class throughout the school year to advice students and their instrument.
Students will perform as a band twice during the school year for friends and family. This class is open to any woodwind (flute, clarinet or saxophone), brass (trumpet, trombone, french horn or tuba) or percussion instruments.

First Year Orchestra
Grade Level: K-12
Prerequisite: None
This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified, personable instructor. You will learn how to read music, music theory as well as how to play in a group setting. Students will perform as a group twice during the school year for friends and family.
This class is open any aspiring violin, viola, cello or bass players. Practice time outside of class is required. Supply list is available at the first class meeting.
Second Year Orchestra
Grade Level: 2-12
Prerequisite: Private lessons on their instrument at least six months, have taken orchestra previously at Beacock Music or by permission of the instructor. Call Beacock Music to set up a time to meet with the instructor.
This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified and personable instructor. Students will begin to learn more advanced music theory and a greater understanding of their instrument.
The class is open to violin, viola, cello, and upright bass musicians. Students will perform as an orchestra twice during the school year for friends and family.
Practice time outside of class is required in order for the Orchestra to progress. Supply list is available at the first class meeting.
Third and Fifth Year Orchestra
Grade Level: 3-12
Prerequisite: Private lessons on their instrument for at least two years or have taken orchestra previously at Beacock Music or by permission of the instructor. Call Beacock Music to set up meeting time with instructor.
This class meets once a week for an hour and a half with a qualified and personable instructor. Students will begin to learn more advanced music theory and a greater understanding of their instrument. This class will also be broken up into smaller chamber groups throughout the year to explore small ensemble playing.
The class is open to violin, viola, cello, and upright bass musicians. Students will perform as an orchestra twice during the school year for friends and family.

First Year Guitar
Grade Level: 3-12

Guitar classes are offered according to grade level and specified time. See the Class Schedule for days, times and grade levels. This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified, personable instructor.
You will learn how to read music, music theory, guitar chords, strumming as well as how to play together. Students will perform as a group twice during the school year for friends and family.

Second Year Guitar

You will further your understanding of guitar theory, as well as learn more chords, tab and how to play together. Students will perform as a group twice during the school year for friends and family.

Third Year Guitar

You will further your understanding of guitar theory, as well as learn open position chords and scales, barre chords, standard song forms, reading music in the fifth position, and how to play in a group setting. Students will perform as a group twice during the school year for friends and family.

Fourth Year Guitar
Grade Level: 3-12
Prerequisite: Private lessons for at least two years or have taken guitar class at Beacock Music or by permission of the instructor. Call Beacock Music to set up meeting time with instructor.
You will learn rudiments of music theory and will expand your knowledge of the fret board, learn scales in five positions up and down the neck and read music in different positions on the fret board by learning classical melodies and further student’s ability to play in a group setting. Students will perform as a group twice during the school year for friends and family.

First Year Piano

First Year Percussion

Prerequisite: None
This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified, personable instructor. You will learn the rudiments of percussion playing, as well as music theory. This class will introduce students to drum lines and the world of percussion!! Students will perform twice during the school year for friends and family.

Second Year Percussion
Grade Level: 5-12
Prerequisites: Private lessons for six months, have previously taken first year percussion or by permission of the instructor. Please call Beacock Music to schedule a time to meet with the instructor.
Learn more about sixteenth notes, triplets, syncopation, hand percussion and explore the rudiments more in-depth. Students will perform twice during the school year for friends and family.

First Year Choir
Grade Level: 1-6
Prerequisite: None
This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified, personable instructor. Two recitals will be held during the year for students to perform for friends and family. Choir class will teach singing through fun songs and activities. Focus will be on breathing, pitch, sight reading, scales and ensemble singing.

Second Year Choir
Grade Level: 1-6
Prerequisite: Private lessons for at least six months, taken choir or by permission of the instructor. Call Beacock Music to set up a time to meet with the instructor
This class meets once a week for an hour with a qualified, personable instructor. Two recitals will be held during the year for students to perform for friends and family. Choir class will teach singing through fun songs and activities. Focus will be on breathing, pitch, part singing, ensemble singing and sight reading. Home practicing of approximately 20 minutes a day is expected.

Music Discovery
Grade: Pre K-1
Prerequisite: None
Fun music activities to inspire the musician in every child! Instrument play, dancing, pitch and rhythm will be focused on in the class. Students will perform in a fun showcase twice a year for friends and family. Supply list is available at the first class meeting.
