Savannah Brosius

Cello Instructor

Savannah was born in Portland, OR and began playing violin at age 6. After studying for 7 years, she switched to cello and has been performing ever since. She studied with Hamilton Chiefetz, Professor of Cello, at Portland State University until graduating high school from Hockinson and moving to study cello performance at the University of Puget Sound. After relocating to Southwest WA in 2015, she graduated from WSU, Vancouver, with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedicine. In her 11 years as a cellist, Savannah has been a member of several Portland/Vancouver Metro area musical groups including Portland Festival Symphony, The Oregon Sinfonietta, Oregon Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Clark College Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Chamber Orchestra, Orpheus Academy, Portland Mahler Festival, University of Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra, Sandia Music Festival in Albuquerque, NM, and the Metropolitan Youth Symphony. Savannah teaches students of all ages and levels on cello. She also teaches beginning violin and viola.

Savannah loves sharing her passion for music with her students. She strongly believes that anyone can learn music at any age. Savannah enjoys teaching both classic and contemporary music. She personalizes her teaching to each student and, in addition to expanding their solo repertoire and understanding of music theory, enjoys helping them with orchestral music for school, preparing for auditions, and introducing them to new styles and interpretations of music.

During her free time, Savannah enjoys exploring nature, hiking the Columbia River Gorge, traveling to see family in Sweden, knitting in local coffee shops, and writing letters to friends and family near and far.
