Cello, Viola, Voice, Upright Bass

Brienna is a California born, Texas raised musician with extensive training in Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Folk Styles. As a multi-instrumentalist, she was gifted opportunity to experience much of the music scene around her and get real world experience from a young age.

At the age of 15, she received the Jeff Bradetich scholarship from Jeff Bradetich himself to pursue her passion for upright bass at an advanced level. At 18 she was awarded the Joyce Carver Character Award, and multiple scholarships for her musicianship. She began pursuing Music Education and Music Production at Seattle Pacific University, and by 19 she became the youngest jazz conductor at Ingraham High School, in Seattle, and the first female jazz conductor the school had seen in 50+ years.

Brienna has had the pleasure of having real world experience in the music industry. She has worked as a studio musician for several bands and producers, as well as release music if her own under Brienna Kelley. She has also served as Principle Bassist and Alto Section Leader for several prestigious orchestras and choirs, as well as has performed at many sought after venues with ensembles and contemporary bands, including; The Steps of The Grand Ole Opery, Disney, Benroya Hall, Allen Performance Hall, and more.

Brienna believes that teaching at its core is imparting knowledge in a way that expands the student’s understanding of not only the concept being learnt, but also the world around them. She believes that effective teaching does not put the student in a position of inferiority and perceived ignorance but instead puts them in a position of reception and respect. She strives to be a positive light in her students lives whether through being a mentor, an open ear, or simply providing class/lesson time in which the student doesn't feel pressured or stressed, but can simply get lost in the music. She believes it is essential to balance structured practice and technique, with community and performance, and uses music theory to help students truly understand the concept of music holistically.
