Helena Fenster

Piano and Vocal Instructor

New York City born and raised, Helena began her musical career training quite early as a professional singer/clarinetist in middle school, ultimately graduating from The High School of Music and Art, the "FAME” high school. While there, she began singing in a girls group of which one of the members was recently inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! She continued her education earning a B.S. and a graduate degree in Music Education from New York University and Hunter College, NYC. While there, she had the opportunity to sing, play clarinet and bassoon in classical orchestras and choirs on the stages of Carnegie Hall and with The Buffalo Philharmonic, near Niagara Falls, NY. Combining her love of pop music as well, Helena created a variety of pop/rock bands, and solo acts. She also had the great fortune of writing and performing in her own Cabaret one woman shows Off- Broadway, called, “ Helena’s Back “ and “ Apples and Oranges “. In addition, she has performed as a piano/singer in many diverse nightclubs in the USA and France. Helena has been teaching all ages from 5-75 since graduating college, working in public schools from elementary through high school, private schools, and community centers. She has created workshops and shows for her students to participate in and has been teaching privately through the years. So, whether it’s voice, piano, orchestral instruments or songwriting, she is delighted to be part of The Beacock Music staff.
