My name is Javier Mitchell, I have played cello for 11 years and am currently completing a degree in music at Portland State University. I grew up in Ashland Oregon, where I began my cello career, I played in the youth orchestra there as well as some youth chamber groups. I very much enjoy playing music with other people. My interest in teaching began when I helped out with sectionals for the middle school orchestra when I was in high school. What I hope to bring to Beacock is to share my knowledge of playing cello, and share the enjoyment of playing such a wonderful instrument to new students young and old.
