Accordion

I began taking accordion lessons at the age of 6 and studied for 13 years at Frank ‘n Delores Studios, Carmichael, California.  Instruction included performance, theory, and improvisation. I competed annually in the Northern California Accordion Association, winning many solo, duet, and band awards, culminating in winning the Senior Jazz Championship.  I went on to major in music at the University of California, Riverside and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University with a minor in music.

Upon graduation from BYU I was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, Medical Service Corps and later became an Army MEDEVAC Instructor Pilot. While playing professionally and teaching accordion students throughout the world I also taught Spanish, English, Religion, Leadership, Ethics, and Aviation.  I am a Master Aviator, Jump Master, and have a master’s degree in International Relations.

I love performing professionally and teaching students how to play amazing music.  I am thrilled to become part of the Beacock Music family as their first accordion teacher.  I cannot wait to begin sharing the joys of playing this versatile instrument.
