Concert Percussion and Drum Set Instructor
David Priore is a professional percussionist, drummer, and educator from Los Angeles, California. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from California State University, Northridge. While in California, he taught private students while performing as a freelancer with local orchestras and also coached drumlines and concert band percussion sections. While in graduate school, David had the opportunity to perform the U.S. premiers of two major orchestral works composed by Serj Tankian, lead singer of the famous rock band System of a Down. Having already performed both the "Elect the Dead Symphony" and "Orca Symphony" with numerous European orchestras, Serj decided to hold the U.S. premier of his works at Cal State Northridge, his old Alma Mater. Since moving to Portland in 2018, he has been actively freelancing as a percussionist with orchestras all over Oregon. In 2019, he was appointed as the Director of Percussion for the East Winds Band Camp, a non-profit organization that provides performance opportunities for young musicians during the summer. David has worked with students of all backgrounds and skill levels and believes that learning music can benefit many aspects of an individual's life.
